I won’t bore you with the train journey details from Liverpool to Edinburgh lets just say it was the School holidays and Virgin did a far better job than Transpennine Express !
I still prefer to take the Train to Edinburgh than to drive, but one thing I have learned from this weekend is that if you take the train from its starting point station, you will get to sit in your booked seats. If you pick up the train three of four stops down the line chances are you wont be able to get on the train let alone get to your seat ! These train companies really do need to start investing in more carriages.
I stayed at the Travelodge Haymarket, it’s not the most modern Travelodge in the world and its walls are paper thin so its not that quiet but its out of the main part of the city so no outside noise at night and in a great location as well as a great price, also this Travelodge has quirky rooms ! Every room is diferent and for that reason alone its well worth the visit.
This was one of the best walks I have ever had in Edinburgh, amazing group of like minded people. Some did say it was more of a Pub Crawl than a Photowalk but I did not hear any complaints ! I must admit there was a small amount of Beer consumed along the route.
We were very lucky with the weather as well, for some reason it only rained when we were in the Pub ! No wonder so many people love their Whisky in Scotland.
Its always great to catch up with great friends and thank you Ami for helping out on the day. If you are into Street Photography Ami has some great Street Workshops in Edinburgh. It was also nice to see Fay and Trevor out and about enjoying the sights and sounds of the city.
It was great to see so many Fujifilm camera in Edinburgh and thanks to John from Fujifilm UK for coming along with a bag full of small lenses for people to test out.
We have one more walk left now and its the London Walk on the 12th of August, if you want to sign up there are still a few places left. Over 450 signed up so should be great fun.
Following the London walk we have one last Photowalk for 2017 on the 23rd of September in Liverpool, there is a small fee for this one but we think £2.50 is worth it.
Next year we will not be holding a Bristol Photowalk we will be moving this walk to Birmingham but the London, Liverpool and Edinburgh walks will still be taking place. We are in the process of deciding on a small admin fee or a charging for a Memory card to get a free walk. This is due to the amount of people that sign up for the walks that dont turn up. We understand it but there is a cost involved to Fujiholics in getting the team there for the day.
Have a great week guys, see you on the next one.
I will be booking my room for next years Edinburgh as soon as dates become available, I really love the relaxed vibe from the Edinburgh walks see you next year.
